Latest OP-1 PDF Manual Reverse Print?

I was wondering if anyone created a copy of the latest OP-1 manual in reverse print (I need black print on a white background). The other day, I emailed the TEam about this and they promptly responded by apologizing and stating that it was only available in black "(at least for now)". The only version I have at this time is the 18-page beta? manual. Even though the 34-page black background version is very pleasing to the eyes when viewed on a computer screen, having a hard copy in hand that is also easy on printer ink would be of substantial help to me. Oh, and by the way...DAMN, IS THIS OP-1 COOL !?!?!!!

Cases For The OP-1

I'm gonna be carrying this thing around with me as much as possible so am gonna want to have it protected as I do so. Has anyone got any suggestions on cases, bags, sleeves for it?

In one of the videos there is mention of some headphones to accompany the OP, so maybe TE will design a case for it too.

hey guys, I wanted to see if you knew whether or not the drum samples from the first release were still around.. in aiff form or something.. recently updated to the newest OS and kind of sad to be missing my classic drum samples. are they hidden in a preset of a different name? let me know!!

Anyone getting an error that freezes the interface?

This usually happens in the Tape mode when I'm playing (lots of notes) over a looping pattern. Usually a re-start will fix it, but last eve I had to do a "shift/com" reboot and re-call the factory settings.

OP-1 Broken Key

Got my OP-1 yesterday and LOVE it, but an hour after using it the PLAY key just broke off (plastic underneath key snapped). I tried to contact TE but have not heard from them in 24 hours. Is there a better way to contact other than the Contact info form on their site?

Thus far, I'm absolutely impressed by the TEam's unwavering support for the OP-1. Whether it's complex OS updates or simple questions about the manual, I can depend on the TEam for releasing updates like clockwork and rapid responses to my inquiries. Big ups to Teenage Engineering!

Any decent writers out there who know a thing or two about where to find official info about the OP-1? It desperately needs content, as it has been flagged for speedly deletion which is ridiculous.

OP1 Broken!

So I downloaded the latest OS from TE. Followed the instructions carefully, as this was my first time upgrading...

I got a error at the end of the upgrade, I was then prompted to restart the OP-1.

This lead to an OP-Brick. No power, cannot reboot by holding COM etc. Nothing works. Black screen.

I'd say think twice before upgrading your system.

ANYONE else having this issue? And does anyone know the best way to reach TE support?? I tried web address on their coming soon page with no luck yet.

Sigh. Sad.

OP-1 Fixed!

With the kind help of the TE folks, who I must say responded vey quickly , here's how I fixed my issue.

Recap. I updated to the latest OS (op1_11701.op1.op1) and installed which ended in an error. My OP-1 then went black. I could not get any sound, much less power from the unit. I tried the COM restart both plugged in via USB to my mac and not plugged in. Nada. Bummed!

After emailing TE they told me to plug into an external USB plug (5v) for 10 mins. Unplug, and then try the COM restart. This got me back to the "Boot Screen".

Then I simply tried the latest update again (dragging file op1_11701.op1.op1 from desktop to the mounted PO-1 unit) and instigated the Firmware upgrade.

This time the unit performed as designed, no error and it's now back to normal.

We know that this latest Firmware upgrade is suspect, so I'd recommend to refrain from using it (so does TE). I expect a new one is immanent.

But if anyone else is in a bind maybe this info will help.

And really, for a small company in the middle of a first cycle of products and building a (long overdo) website I think these guys preformed marvelously in the customer service department. Im in SF and they are in Sweden and this thing is fixed less than 1/2 day later? Try that with Roland.

Makes me love this thing a little more, if that's possible.

I orderd my OP-1 on the day they came up for sale, it said the shipping would take 8 weeks but that deadline passed more than a month ago and I'm still waiting for them to ship my unit - is anyone else experiencing this delay?

Aaargh!

Renamed one of the user .aif files (2.aif -> hello.aif), and now the OP-1 won't boot (cryptic error message including the text "fwrite failed").

I obviously can't boot it into disk mode to rename the file back; has anybody come across a factory reset function?

OP-1 Noise Problem

Hi there,

I just got my OP-1 today and I'm noticing that when i turn the volume up to a decent level I'm hearing small artifacts after playing synth notes or drum hits.
The best way to describe it would be a small decaying piece of white noise that is not part of the actual synth part or drum sound. Is anyone else having the same issue?

One other thing - my OP-1 is grey not white, are they all like that?

what in THE FUCK is up with UPS holding my OP-1 hostage until i pay a surprise $50 customs fee?! has anyone else (U.S. customers) had to deal with this? i have talked to a couple others who didn't get charged for this, so i don't know what to think. TE never mentioned this when i paid for shipping. UPS never mentioned it when i got a tracking #. total bullshit. and, best of all, i'm flat broke. so, in order to get my package before they ship it back, i have to write UPS a bogus check (which i'll be cancelling immediately after getting the package in my hands), then wait for whatever repercussions that may bring. fucking hell. should i be bitching at TE for this?
