Have I killed my meeblip?
  • I did my initial power test using a roland/boss PS, which I later realised has the wrong polarity.

I've retried it with a correct polarity PS, even a couple of different ones. No power.

I've double check my wiring from IO board to main. Any suggestions?

  • have you had it working or did you plug the adaptor in which was wrong because if thats the case it maybe you have not selected the midi channel 1 and will not work if set to OMNI if not you may have damage you unit ..

  • To clarify, when I plug in power, nothing lights up. From the instructions: "Before closing the case, briefly connect the 9V DC power adapter to make sure that the front panel LED lights. If it doesn’t light, remove power immediately and double-check your work."

...and that's where I stupidly used the wrong PS. Plugging in a correct PS and rechecking wiring has not resolved the problem.

  • Hi Rob - There's a reversal protection diode on the power input, so you shouldn't do damage by plugging in backwards.

There was a problem with some cables (marked TONGCHUANG with black connectors on both ends). Do you have those cables?

If not, your cables probably have one or two grey connectors on the end.

Let me know which cables you have and I'll provide some debugging ideas.

  • oh i did some thing wrong also got a diode wrong i got one thats not working to but the chips are ok i am waiting on some caps as they are the wrong type

  • think i found out whats wrong with mine was 3 things i found forgot to solder one side of the analog chip :( and cap the wrong way round :( and c12 is missing :( that could be the problem :)

  • @meeblip That's a relief. Also, I checked and found the PS I was using was only 180mA. I found another which is 500mA and it works!

    All good! Thanks.....

  • mine is working too now i need to connect th wires to switches
