Good App/Bad Apps
  • Ok here the thread where you name a couple of your favorite apps, and a couple you wish you could get you money back on.  Or ask advice!
    Love:
    Beatmaker 2 (duh),Electrify,Space,Curtis,iMS-20, Soundyeah! Rebirth
    No Love:
iSequence,nLOG PRO, Xenon, Morph WIz(cool interface sounds like crap), Reactable
Ok third category..Like But Not Love:
    Nanostudio, iElectribe, Sunvox, Chippad
  • That's funny, that's almost the inverse of my list:

    apps I love:
iMS20, nLog, Xenon, Argon, FunkBox, SoundPrism (needs MIDI out, coming soon), ThumbJam, Everyday Looper, bs-20 (ipad soundfont player).

    sort of like:
MorphWiz (great fun but hard to control, I think it sounds great). iElectribe, DopplerPad, Synth

I can't think of the ones I dislike off the top of my head and I don't have the ipad here to look. I want to like Sunvox but I can't figure it out. I keep buying abstract "soundscape" apps and regretting it but I should know better. But even those are only a few bucks so it's hard to dislike anything on ipad.
  • Just had to give some props! http://www.wayoutware.com/synthx/
Way out ware's synth x. By far the best synth for iPad! Really set a new standard in terms of not only interface, but especially sound quality. Really starting to sound close to some good vst's.
  • reactable is nice... that and the tnr-i are the only apps I've bought that actually make sound.

Ipad is much more interesting as a controller / performance tool for me.

controller apps that are way fun and ridiculously useful: stepPolyArp, koushion, touchOSC

I've yet to pick up konkrete performer, griid or touchAble as controlling ableton live is not high on my list of things to do.
