  • OP-1 OS #11855
was released today (new sounds and bug fixes). I've installed with no problems - Change Log for OP-1 OS 11855: We recommend everyone that is upgrading from an OS lower then #11851 to do a "8".
Format Drive in the TE-Boot menu. Doing a Format is only needed the first time this OS is installed. Remember to backup your data!

    -Factory Presets have been added.

-Sustain loops and base note are now imported into synth sampler patches.

-Disk Mode now listens to the 'Eject' USB message.

-After extended usage in certain conditions the OP-1 could get into a state that required a reset. Fixed.

-When using octave shift and pitch at the same time in the Drum Sampler the pitch would sometimes be incorrect. Fixed

-When switching between sounds in the presetbrowser and playing at the same time under certain conditions an error would rigger. Fixed.

-The Drum Sampler could under rare conditions trigger an error. Fixed.

-When using the Synth Sampler and the Value LFO on loop points an error could be triggered. Fixed.

-Notes could get stuck in the presetbrowser. Fixed.

-USB MIDI was disabled if USB Disk Mode had previously been used. Fixed.

-When the snapshot space was full a cryptic icon was displayed. Fixed.

-In Drum mode the MIDI Note number sent was incorrect. Fixed.

-Value LFO sent to Drum Pitch did not function. Fixed.

-Value LFO sent to Synth Sampler Start did not function. Fixed.

-Not all values that should was saved on power off. Fixed.

-At the very start and end of the tape a squeal could be heard when scrubbing. Fixed.
  • All done and all working fine!
The new presets are interesting, sound quality is great.
  • all done in windows 7 32 bit flawlessly. Big jump in presets os has almost doubled in size. Big update. sampler preset SINE SUB is sooo sub I couldn't hear it until I put on my sennheisers, fat and low. I like the presets, good piano, which I didn't expect. The rhodes is very raw with the intent you will process and eq to suit. One thing I noticed is that pitch bends are not active when in preset menu, only after to exit to a selection. Also in pattern sequencer you can't jump octaves unless you go out to the sound engine, then the octave jumps jump the sequence. Its the code approach i guess. Haven't tested midi yet. Cool, HUGE upgrade.
  • WHOA!!!! My pattern sequencer is smoothly driving a vst in ableton 8.2.1 No drivers no nonsense, no rescan, its just there listed in abelton's menu and running in sync and responding to teh op-1 clock.

Now that's africkin upgrade, they are sooo low key about how good this is. Emil & co, THanks.
  • Was playing around with midi as well - had a monome setup to sequence the op-1 last night, worked great, fun fun.
  • what is meant by "We recommend everyone that is upgrading from an OS lower then #11851 to do a “8??
  • @Sean: Doing an "8" refers to performing a format before updating to 11851. I just now updated from an early OS and found it very easy.
