CPS, which I considered purchasing for a time awhile back, has gone freeware. Bad news for them, good news for us. Can host VST/VSTis, act as a VST/VSTi in a host, tons of modules, a plug-in SDK that supports C++ as well as Java languages, MP3 support, and what I consider to be the really innovative bit: Macromedia Director/Shockwave support.

With CPS, you can actually have a virtual instrument on your web-browser, standalone C++/Java program, and so much more.

Really exciting stuff. I hope now that it's freeware, it will get some of the coverage that it deserves.

Windows and PPC Macs only.

Whoa, thanks Afro. Director support? Now that's something you don't see every day. Looks like it actually runs inside Director. (Ever tried it?)

I'm working with CPS right now, trying to get my head around it. Unfortunately, I don't have Director, so I can't test out that feature.

Maybe someone who does could write in about their experience with using CPS within it.

I've been using Flash, not Director, so that's not me, either. Director is expensive, and Lingo is hard. Wink

Actually, I'd LOVE to see a host with Flash support, but not sure that's likely to happen any time soon.
