Hey gang,

My name is Josh. I make musical videogames for a living here:

www.harmonixmusic.com

I'm addicted to CDM!

Thanks Peter for hooking up this cool forum. I look forward to exchanging ideas and wacky pictures of huge synthesizers with you all.

Hello Robotkid! Welcome to the forums.

I suppose I should also introduce myself, considering i've been posting here for a couple of weeks now. My name is Imanuel, but please... do call me madhatter. I make music using a variety of things, including but not limited to, acoustic and electronic instruments, wind (as in... you know... moving air) and pretty much anything else which resonates when you hit it.

My website is having a complete revamp at the moment, but feel free to keep your eyes on www.ladies24.co.uk and www.velkrosmaak.co.nr

hey everyone, hey Peter, thanks for the cool site. I've been reading it for a while now, and should probably introduce myself even though it's not my style.

I'm Aaron, but call me Groffhibbitz or Groff.. I'm interested in new ideas in music, to put it plainly. New paradigms for music creation and control of computers really interest me. DJing is fun, production is too. I think all the new visual stuff people are doing is really cool too, although I feel it's not my area of expertise. And I have a talent for remembering all video game music, so if there was a name that tune video game edition, I would be your man.

Unfortunately I don't have a cool website like so many of you on here do.

Hello Everyone! My name is Marcus from Vancouver, Canada, over on the left coast. I'm a classically trained violist (don't hold it against me!) and I studied for 3 years in NYC at the infamous "Juilliard School" were I graduated deciding to buy an electric viola, guitar rig, an imac G5, stylus rmx, cubase and ableton live! I'm currently developing a live electric viola set processed through Guitar Rig within ableton, trying to create an improvisatory, beat and ambient driven music triggered with an FCB1010 behringer midi foot controller. My biggest influence is definitely Squarepusher, as well as Aphex Twin and MDMA. To get an idea of what I'm trying to do check out the electric cellist Jun Jensen at www.junjensen.com
yes, it's a shameless plug for a friend but hey, what are friends for right? I hope to contibute to this forum and give help wherever I can. this place seems much more inviting and positive than other sites i've visited. nice. take care everyone! Very Happy

G'day, I am Theo den Brinker. I got into music production to fill the silence of my video art pieces. So the VJ news on CDM as well as the music news and reviews is welcome.

The trouble is I am becoming a bit of a music software addict; Live, Storm, Reaktor, Logic Pro and I am sure the list will grow. I even brought the Nintendo DS for Electroplankton (but Dual Strike is good too).

My hard drives are littered with incomplete projects though some work can be heard in my video work for the australian government.

Hello! My name is Gerard Paresys from France.

I compose electroacoustic music, I make sound installation and I am developing ARGO, a free modular synthesizer for Macintosh and Windows.:
http://perso.orange.fr/Paresys/ARGO/
ARGO requires the installation of Max/MSP:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max/MSP
But ARGO is conceived for users who had never programmed with Max/MSP.

In France at the "Conservatoire de Dugny", near Paris, I teach Computer Music.

Thank you for this site and this forum

Gerard

Hey all, my name is Eoin and I'm from Dublin, Ireland. I'm 24 and consider myself a keyboard player and composer first and foremost, but I have 0 by way of listenable material at the moment so that leaves DJing!

I've spent the last three or four years (and a regrettable chunk of change) moulding a practical and useable composing setup, and I'm happy to say that as of recently I've found the sweet spot - ProKeys 88, Kore + Komplete, Live, Acer tablet w/upgraded HD, Traveler, a few controllers... this setup is proving stable and the fear of ideas being lost is finally starting to lift Very Happy

Been reading CDM for ... a year? Can't remember... probably since it was first mentioned on Music Thing.

Been DJing for the last 6 months and only a couple of weeks of that with Live. I wouldn't exactly call it groundbreaking stuff - I play a bar/restaurant - but it's fun finding ways to make it interesting.

Influences (i.e. for creative inspiration): BT, Bjork, Michel Gondry, Robert Rodriguez (read his book!). I'm really interested in the idea of creative Flow - I've been reading a book called Flow by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi (say it five times quickly) and it's really cool, check it out! The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron is great and of course I recommend Real World Digital Audio!

My main thing at the moment is researching my midibox DJ controller project and looking into more ways to make music a sustainable career. I'm looking forward to much discussion here at CDM. I'll apologise here in advance: as you can see I tend to ramble Smile

Hi everyone. I'm Adam and I'm a UK-based instructor & technician in digital media at Swansea Institute and a resident VJ at Escape nightclub, also in Swansea.

I develop a lot of my own visuals, mostly Flash and sound-reactive stuff, plus I've now started developing some creative and performance tools as part of my MSc.

You can see some links to my sites in my sig, though I warn you its all badly in need of updating (or finishing...)!

Looking forward to chatting with everyone here and brewing some great ideas Smile
