As reported by Hackaday. And now I officially want one.
Reportedly the hacker is working on a sequencer.

Wow. Nice indeed.
Even though the DS button layout is very bad for softs like LSDj, this makes me want to get one... |

From the developer's blog a couple of days ago:
Quote: dSTAR is still in an internal alpha stage... but the sequencing functionality is mostly there including playback features and track assigning to MIDI continous controllers. Today I was able to control and sequence a software synthesizer from dSTAR and control note playback and send CC's which controlled filter cuttoff. The timing seems very tight. |

Damn, I had the same idea! Beaten to the punch once again...
I hope the guy develops a wireless option. It would be kick ass to do some crazy wireless DS solos on stage.

Holy crap!
Yes, once this gets going, there are many opportunities to expand on the idea. Hopefully he'll keep everything open source so the community can contribute. |

Attention -- any CDMers in the Seattle area good with a video camera? August is the month we'll be adding video featurettes to CDM, and this guy is in Seattle ... if you get my drift. |

Did I hear some interest in using MIDI wirelessly from a handheld game system? A little bit back I cobbled together a little hack for my PSP so it could use MIDI over the 802.11 connection. Oh and if you're running windows it can control your mouse too! I just posted it up at http://e-mu.org .
I'm also working on adapting it to be able to control Ableton Live wirelessly using the PSP as well.
Hope someone has some fun with this. If you need help with the install or anything, just ask. |

Hey wombot -- this looks truly fantastic! I wish I had a PSP to try it out. Just posted all three examples.
Let us know, everybody else, if you have the DS or GP32 and get those solutions working. |
