Hi to everybody,
I'm developing some code for a multimedia project, based on a book, some installations and a online audio streaming server.
Regarding the audio the idea is to use some kind of TTS (text-to-speech) and process the output with a max-msp patch (I need a very very long reverb , some minutes at least , as the gigaverb~ patch).
The solution should be preferrably multi-platform (I develop mainly on OSX, but probably the online streaming server will be a pc one).
The first idea was to write a projector with Lingo and redirect the output to the max-msp. On the mac this could be done easily with soundflower, but on pc?
Another idea is to search for an external formax-msp, but sadly the only one multiplatform I know (maxmbrola~) do not run on my mac book pro (no UB version).
Yet another way (my preferred in theory ...) could be in theory to use FreeTTS , which is java based, trough a MXJ~ object ; the sound is not perfect, but it's ok for the intended use; now I'm trying to understand how to use the FreeTTS /JSAPI library in Max-Msp...
Any suggestions?
thanks in advance
