Python + MIDI ?

I'm trying to find a Python module that allows "live" MIDI communications (sending and recieving MIDI events through ports) I can't seem to find one. Any suggestions ?

I've done a bit of developing midi apps in python, and I've found that pyportmidi works quite nicely
