Hey Evan, really dug the video man. It made me want to go out there and build my own massive MIDI controller. But when I went to the sites you gave, the uCApps and SmashTV ones, I was totally lost in all the technical details, which were lacking in step-by-step instructions for total n00bs.
I think it would be great if you could go through the step-by-step process of how your controller was made, or perhaps give us some links to where one could go to learn the skills needed to tackle a project like this.

I second that request. I've been looking to get hold of a Doepfer Pocket C, so that I can build myself a unique and interesting looking MIDI controller, that would suit what I want to do.
Write up a guide, and i'm sure they'll publish it on CDM! |

I'm not sure if I could really make it any easier.. but I'll tell you what in a few weeks I'm going to be building a smaller led box maybe I'll photograph it and but together a little how to.

Very, very cool, Evan. (Catching up on the forums after being up in Cambridge!) Some really nice design elements in there!
That would rock if you did put together a how-to on something simple; do let us know! |

wow! pretty awesome.
i too think that a how-to would be most wonderful, ive been looking at building a simple controller of the same nature, but i do not have the skills to do it on my own sadly. |

check out this interface that someone built using the Doepfer PE midi kit...looks pretty classy, I must say! I like that it seems as though he built it to be ergonomic for him.

I saw your video on em411 a while ago and also heard your live set with 'the box'. Really great stuff! It's so much more fun to use alternative interfaces sometimes, as I found out yesterday with my joystick. |
